**Not accepting new clients**
If you have gone through a trauma or loss, are highly sensitive, a creative or deep thinker, going through many changes, or you don't quite fit in, I'd love to meet you. Maybe you are thinking what is the point, is there any hope for the future, what are the next steps? These are the people I enjoy working with in my practice. Together we can explore your past, present, and future. We can process any sadness, anger, guilt, or shame related to what has happened. We will re-establish hope and overcome any fears of the future. We can learn mindfulness together so that you experience each day fully. Working with me in therapy, you can overcome the toughest experiences.
Virtual therapy is available now and will continue to be so after the global pandemic; therefore, therapy is easy and convenient for you to continue as long as you need it. Licensed in North Carolina, New York, and Florida, I am able to see residents in any of these locations. Clients that choose to work with me have shared that I am compassionate and warm, and use a very practical approach. I am trained in using the best therapy that has been highly researched, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure for trauma therapy. I was a former professor and researcher prior to creating my private practice and I love working with college students and people searching for purpose and a new career. I am a firm believer in "You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream." -C.S. Lewis
I am a graduate of the University of Miami and completed my doctorate at Louisiana Tech University. I have lived in Miami, Louisiana, New Jersey, Central Florida, Brooklyn, and I am proud to call Asheville my home! I often spend time with my family, and enjoy reading new books, cooking, and trying to balance it all. I am an advocate for suicide prevention, grief and loss, mom-work-life balance, and underprivileged communities especially LGBTQIAA and BIPOC individuals.
