As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I love my profession. My motto for approaching life and my work with clients is to embody humor, compassion and honesty. I invite clients to show up
as their authentic selves and I value doing the same.
Whether working with children, adolescents, teens, families, or young adults, I utilize a trauma-informed lens. I’m also passionate about working with clients who are neurodiverse. In my work with families, I provide guidance and support around communication, connection, and parenting strategies that are neurodiversity-affirming. With children and adolescents, I use a variety of modalities, including play, and talk therapy, to create a safe, engaging space where they can express themselves and develop confidence.
We have all walked different and often difficult paths in our lives and I encourage self-compassion, even for the parts of ourselves that we sometimes struggle with. I work with clients of various ages struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma and overwhelming societal systems
that affect our lives and mental health.
When we are going through a difficult time we tend to focus on our weaknesses. Because of this, I use a strength-based approach and deeply believe in treating distress not difference. I
incorporate various evidence-based practices into therapy including DBT, CBT, Emotionally Responsive Practice (ERP), Alternatives for Families, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AFCBT) and Accelerate Resolution Therapy, using bilateral eye movement and visualization to resolve trauma.
My family has been in Asheville for generations and I come from a family of helpers. I value the ability to serve and help my community so that we can become stronger together. I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort and I will work alongside you, meet you where you are and celebrate each step of your journey. I look forward to connecting with you.
